Add Dashboard Tile
Module · Stable
Put a chart, a saved view or a text note on a dashboard, full-width below what is already there.
Adds one tile to a board — pass EITHER chart_id OR view_id, never both. The tile goes full-width on a new row at the bottom; where a tile sits is an arrangement decision someone makes on the board itself, not something to guess at from here. If that chart or view is already on the board, nothing is added and added comes back false: a second copy of the same tile is almost always a mistake, and the board would not say which one is real. A text note (note_body, markdown, with an optional note_title) is the exception that keeps itself current: when the board already has a note with that exact title, its text is replaced in place and updated comes back true, so a weekly summary stays one tile where someone placed it.
When to use
Section titled “When to use”Use to put an existing chart or saved view onto a board — ‘add the coverage chart to the ops board’. Get the board id from List dashboards. Also to write or refresh a commentary note on a board — an agent’s weekly read of what changed, under the same note_title every time.
When not to use
Section titled “When not to use”This places something that already exists; it does not create a chart or a view. To change what a board says, change the chart or the view behind the tile.
Inputs
Section titled “Inputs”Configured per use: dashboard_id, chart_id, view_id, note_title, note_body.
